On June 26th 2015, the tourist resort at Port El Kantaoui, about 10 kilometers north of the city of Sousse in Tunisia, was attacked by militants. Thirty-eight people were killed, most of them were visiting Tunisia on holiday.

All SAFEY app users that have visited Tunisia since March 2015 were automatically notified in-app upon arrival that the Sousse area was a risk area for attacks. The risk level was high as previous attacks had been carried out, most notably in March 2015 and in October 2013.

The first local news that emerged of the incident were picked up by SAFEY Emergency System, and within 7 minutes all SAFEY app users in Tunisia received SMS warnings stating that the attack occurred, and professional advice on what to do as the attack and tragedy was unfolding.
